The largest Descent II mission ever made (with the exception of the D1 levels converted to D2), after three and a half years in the making, is done! This mission features 18 all new levels plus 4 secret levels, 16 new robots, custom textures, and custom briefings all at only 3.19 megs for download. Story

Ten years ago the Post Terran Minerals Corporation (PTMC) made a deal with the U.S. military to lease unusable mines in the Myriad system for prototype robot testing. It was a great deal for the PTMC; getting rid of worthless mines and being paid for it. Years went by without incident, untill the PTMC lost contact with one of their operational mines. PTMC Intelligence had concluded that a communicable mech virus had taken out their mines on the Myriad System. Further research revealed that it had leaked in through a military-operated mine. The PTMC contacted the military about this and was informed that all military mines in the Myriad system had been overtaken by this disease. They told the PTMC that they'd better get this under control due to an operation known as "Project: H.Y.D.R.O."

The military had been developing the most destructive warhead in existance and had been storing it in the H.Y.D.R.O. system. "If anything should happen to that missle," the military told them, "the consequences would be devestating to any system remotely near the missle. The initial blast would take out the H.Y.D.R.O. system and the resulting shockwave would crumble every planet, star, and astroid around it. If somehow the missle was launched, we have no idea where it might land... one of your mine systems, maybe two... or even Earth..."

Nervous about what might happen to the missle, the PTMC called in its best Vertigo pilot to handle the situation.

As you are returning to Shiva Station from your last mission, Dravis calls you into his office with some very important information...

Levels

The Myriad System is a basic PTMC mine system. A strange communacable mech virus has broken out in all of Myriad's mines. You have been sent in to eliminate the outbreak. The PTMC is paying triple compensation due to highly seceret military operations within the system.

Unfortunately, the mech virus has spread into the Military's testing ground for new mechs. The region is highly volcanic and often experiences tectonic activity.

The PTMC has traced the virus' origin to the H.Y.D.R.O. system but first you must eliminate the mines in the PTMC's subzero Terrafrost system.
